Kim Gazaryan, M.A., SBD
Certified Bereavement Doula
Certified Volunteer Babywearing Educator
Pregnancy and birth mark the beginning of many things. To walk alongside women and their families as they navigate their unique journey has been my greatest honor. I am a StillBirthday (SBD) certified birth and bereavement doula. I am also DONA International trained and actively seeking final certification through them as well (approximate date of completion in early 2015). I have a passion for mothers and children and it is my heart's desire that every woman feels supported, respected, and empowered through her pregnancy and into motherhood.
I firmly believe that birth is not a one-size-fits-all experience. My role is to help each woman and family discover what her birth will look like and support whatever decision that they determine is best for their experience. Whether you are having an unmedicated birth or a planned cesarean section, you can be certain that you will be supported and provided with the most current research and information so that you can advocate for the care you and your baby deserve. I do not replace members of your birth team; instead, I enhance those relationships by drawing on my skills and expertise to guide you throughout your journey. Birth is so much more than just having a healthy baby and I recognize the importance of creating a positive experience in every circumstance
My husband and I have been blessed with two beautiful daughters. My oldest was a planned unmedicated birth that turned into a high-intervention birth. My second child’s birth was a healing, unmedicated birth that was surrounded by a supportive birth team that respected me and trusted my body to function as it has been designed. I have experience supporting births in a home, birth center or hospital environment and have served women through natural births, inductions, VBACs, medicated births and everything in between. I also have experience in baby wearing, cloth diapering, and baby led weaning.
