My name is Sarah and I received my labor doula training through the
Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA) in
September 2018. As a labor doula, my role is to provide important
emotional, physical, and informational support. I also find it
important to be a resource for women and their family by helping them
navigate medical terminology and protocols while inspiring trust in a
woman's ability to birth. My goal is to help women navigate their
birth journey whether they are planning a medicated or non-medicated
birth, a home birth or birthing at a hospital, or having a planned
C-section. Even if you have no specific plan at all, I can help! It
is my honor to embrace YOUR vision for YOUR birth.
I believe that birth is a life-changing and beautiful experience that
should be honored and supported to establish a stable foundation on
which the entire family can grow.
My passion for all things related to birth began at the young age of
14 after watching the birth of my youngest brother. I knew I wanted
to support birthing women but I wasn't sure in what capacity until
hearing the word "doula." Helping educate women and supporting them
with their birth wishes was exactly what I wanted to do and I haven't
looked back. Each birth experience makes me so excited for the next.
Aside from birth work, I am a proud wife and mother to three
rambunctious boys: Spencer (2003), Gryphen (2005) and Harvey (2015).
I had 3 beautiful and different births and looking back I now realize
now how useful a doula would have been!
