Certified Lactation Counselor
I am a mother to two very energetic young boys and a step-mother to two older children. I experienced a lot of anxiety during both my pregnancies and after experiencing issues with breastfeeding when my first was born I developed postpartum depression on top of the anxiety.
My experiences led me to join local groups both in person and on Facebook to help me cope and learn all I can to help myself. Through my participation in these groups over the years, I was asked to help run an online breastfeeding support group with now over 6000 members and also both an online and in-person support group for those dealing with perinatal/postpartum depression and anxiety. Because helping mothers during the postpartum period is something I am passionate about, I decided to become a Postpartum Doula and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) because I know I could have used one myself when both my children were born.
